Unplanned Haitus

It has been a while since I've posted anything substantive about dreams and dreaming.

It's been a difficult couple of months, with illness in the family, and personal health issues, on top of the usual run-of-the-mill deadline-driven stress.

Thing is, I hadn't been dreaming.

Like I was dream-constipated or something.

At first, I thought all the stuff of life was being processed in life, and therefore didn't need to be processed further in dreams.

But the dreams kept not coming.

The stuff of waking life has settled down now, and I'm less constricted I suppose, because now the dreams are coming again.

I've missed them, a whole bunch.

It's kind of good to see the old themes show up again ...

Surf and Ye Shall Find: The Power of Dreams

I was looking for one All Things Considered program I heard last week that mentioned the choice of reading fiction before going to sleep was due to how well fiction served to transition one from waking life into the dream state ... but instead I found the program below ...

The Power of Dreams
... Roy Jenkins travels to the very end of the Lleyn Peninsula to meet the Rev Evelyn Davies who has just retired as Vicar of Aberdaron after seven years in the job. ...

When Evelyn came to Aberdaron it was as a result of a dream; that she should go to lead the restoration of the run-down church of St Hywyn. £350,000 worth of fundraising effort later, that mission has been accomplished.

We hear how dreams - it appears - have guided her throughout her life, during which she has also been a counsellor to cancer sufferers.

...It is so nice, as one who takes dreaming seriously, to be in such esteemed company.

Dreams: The Aspirational Kind

The coaching training program I'm enrolled in, Mentorcoach, is rife with psychologists of all stripes: Clinicians, therapists, analysts in industry, researchers in academe.

We have set a goal for ourselves: to distribute as MANY complimentary sessions as possible in the coming week.

So, readers of this here blog, I would like to invite you to partake.

Want to schedule your free session right now?
Contact me via email at suz@dreamcurrent.com (easiest), or by phone 617.327.2658 and we'll set up a time that works for both of us.

Here's my scoop.

I work with achievement-oriented people across the board, in business, academe, and so forth.

What I do is take the research that's already out there on achievement, engagement, creativity, and happiness and put them to use in individual lives. Both personal and professional.

My modus operandi:
People come to me
1. wanting to do better in their jobs, grow their talent, and/or move up in an organization,
2. wanting to explore a new career direction,
3. wanting to take a closer look at talents they've "left behind" in pursuing their career path.

We try different things to find what works best for that individual.

Including dreamwork, if you're so inclined, or collage-work, or freewriting with prompts. Whatever floats your boat and forwards the action.

If you like what you sense in the free session, we can continue working toward your goals.

And guess what, with a coach-in-training, you get a ph.d./business professional, who otherwise bills out at $400/month, at a practicum-level rate.
In other words, there are few bargains more sweet.
