Recorded ~ward May 6, 1973 at San Francisco's Winterland Theater, King Biscuit Flower Hour: In Concert presents the place-Peter Frampton era of Humble Pie, featuring guitarist Dave Clempson backing what was by then Steve Marriott's excipient. Marriott is in full cry without interrupti~ this recording, delivering his soulful, ingratiatingly from one to another-the-top take on R&B-based severely rock with plenty of spirit; he equable sings the between-song audience make merry with. In concert, Humble Pie displayed a barbarity that was sometimes missing from their workshop albums, and King Biscuit Flower Hour not sole captures that quality perfectly, it in addition does so arguably better than at all other live album in the group's discography.
